Iranian ‘Cleaner’ to compete in Turkey

Iranian ‘Cleaner’ is to compete at the 2020 Uşak Winged Seahorse Short Film Festival in Turkey.

Iranian short flick ‘Cleaner’ has been selected to compete at the 7th edition of the Uşak Winged Seahorse Short Film Festival (UWSSFF) in Turkey.

Directed by Mohammad-Reza Meyqani, the short film is about a young maid who cleans bathrooms at a shopping mall. She seems to be impatient and worried to get the results of a test.

The screenplay for the flick has also been developed by the director.

Iranian ‘Cleaner’ has been presented at some global events, including the 2019 Richard Harris International Film Festival in Ireland and the 2019 St Cloud Film Festival in the US.

Organized by Turkish Uşak University Communication Club, the UWSSFF is one of the most important cinematic events in Turkey.

The UWSSFF brings together cineastes from around the world and showcases the most appealing films.

According to the UWSSFF’s official website, “it offers a powerful cinema experience with workshops, interviews, master-classes, retrospectives and surely the richness of the competitions which takes place alongside screenings”.

The seventh edition of the event is slated for December 12-20, 2020.
